What is the Semper Cares Initiative? Why Are They Providing Military Veterans with Free Solar Panels?
Veteran-Owned Semper Solaris has been one of the best solar panel installers and providers in California. Owners John Almond & Kelly Shawhan(previously a United States Marine Corps Captain) founded this company in 2012 and is known for its angle of hiring former military veterans within the solar industry.
Both John and Kelly are deeply connected to our nation’s military and have devoted a significant amount of time and resources to be able to give back to veterans.This desire is how the Semper Cares Initiative started, an ongoing program to help deserving veterans and their families with major home improvements including solar panel installation, roofing, & much more.
The Semper Cares Initiative has found tremendous support from local and national charitable groups including Owens Corning, Panasonic of North America, SolarWorld and SolarEdge. These companies have donated thousands of dollars in material and personnel to our projects to date and have committed to supporting future projects.
Semper Solaris decided to reward former U.S Marine Paul Dugas. Semper’s team was touched by Paul’s story which has him going to the VA for three spinal surgeries and then finding out he has malignant melanoma. With the constant increases in electricity costs, a full solar panel system was installed for free and has allowed Paul to enjoy lower electrical costs.
